Artist Talk Sisters: A Conversation with Nadia Benchallal
Open to the Public
Award-winning photojournalist Nadia Benchallal was born in France and eventually returned to her family’s home country of Algeria on a personal quest to document the everyday lives of Muslim women there. That trip gave rise to her long-term project documenting Muslim women worldwide, capturing them in their private and public lives. As part of Benchallal’s exhibition “Sisters” on view at 19 Washington Square North, she will discuss her work with Shamoon Zamir.
