The UAE is the undisputed leader in the realization of women’s rights in the Middle East and Gulf States, ranking first among Arab countries and thirtieth of 187 countries globally according to the 2011 UNDP Human Development Report. A panel of women leaders explores the politics, policies, and strategies that have led to the remarkable achievements of Emirati women, identifies remaining challenges, and discusses pathways to women’s full and effective participation in the public sphere.
